Operations Manager

This position works in concert with the Practice Administrator in overseeing administrative, financial, and developmental activities of South Georgia / North Florida Eye Partners and its affiliated entities.  Will be based in Valdosta but require some travel to other offices.


Practice Development:

  • Identifies opportunities for practice growth and revenue diversification through satellite offices, ambulatory surgery centers, or other ventures and ensures effective implementation and subsequent management of designated priorities.

Strategic Planning: 

  • Monitors developments in the local market and provides recommendations regarding appropriate responses and strategies. Ensures implementation of planning initiatives.

Coordination of Marketing:

  • Assists in the development and administration of ongoing marketing efforts to inform current and potential patients regarding practice services available; also monitors effectiveness of such efforts through appropriate measures and review.

Financial Operations:

  • Maintains appropriate oversight of practice financial operations as it relates to supply and optical purchasing, budgeting, and safekeeping of practice assets, and ensures optimal efficiency and profitability within the practice.

Service Standards:

  • Ensures appropriate quality standards in all aspects of practice services provided to patients and maintains effective methods for assessing such performance.

Personnel Management:

  • Ensures effective supervision and training of practice staff, encourages optimal performance, and maintains compliance with operating procedures and governmental regulations.

Referral Relations:

  • Maintains positive and loyal relationships among referring specialists, actively solicits and resolves areas of concern, and provides appropriate training and coordination assistance for referring offices.


Other Duties:


  • Performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by the Practice Administrator.


    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
    Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and plans to clients, team members and administration. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups if customers or employees of organization. Ability to hear and understand verbal feedback from clients.
    Ability to use Windows based applications and design programs.
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    Possesses strong work ethic and high level of professionalism
    Ability to travel to between all offices and locations throughout the SGNFEP organization
  • Regular hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.


Clinic/Group Medical Practice environment with exposure to communicable disease. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Benefits



Compensation will be reviewed annually.  Bonus, up to 10% of base salary, will be determined quarterly by achieving the goals set by management.
