A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye and is a common cause of decreased vision. The clouding in the lens disrupts transmission of light through the lens, causing vision to be blurred, dark and distorted.
Children should have their first eye exam between the ages of 6 and 12 months. The first exam usually tests for excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, eye movement ability and overall eye health.
The Optical Shop is located in South Georgia Eye Partners’ Valdosta and Tifton locations. Prior to scheduling ANY appointments, all calls will be screened for established risk factors of COVID-19. Please do not bring guests or family members with you to our office. Any that do accompany will need to wait in the car, please.

All employees before their shift will have their temperature checked and recorded daily. Our staff will only be present if they and their households are healthy and symptom-free.
Please bring your own face mask or a cloth face-covering to wear in our office as a precaution and protection of your health. Any patient refusing to comply with the face-covering request will be rescheduled.
We continue to sterilize, sanitize, and disinfect all touchpoints in our office as well as all equipment and patient areas after every use and between all patients.
Hand sanitizer stations are available at multiple locations throughout the office.
We recommend virtual check-in/out, if possible. Please call or text us upon arrival and wait in your vehicle until one of our staff is available to assist you.
