Today is our monthly Low Vision day in Valdosta.  Once again, I am amazed at the number people with impaired vision who are not getting all they can out of life.  Many of these patients have been told, correctly, by their doctors that there In the middle of a political battle over science standards in Wyoming, one independent schools district is training teachers in the types of higher-level thinking outlined by the Next Generation Science Standards. is nothing more that can be done for them.  Medical and surgically they are often absolutely correct.  What fails to get communicated is that there are often things that can be done to help them use their remaining vision better.  This is what we do in our Low Vision Clinic at South Georgia Eye Partners.  By partnering with Mons International, GA Department of Vocational Rehab, and local schools, we are often able to provide these services to people at little or no cost even when their medical insurance does not cover low vision services.
